I share a backyard with a number of different critters. Some just come to visit and eat and

drink while others reside there. Although on the Deed, this yard belongs to me provided I

keep current on the mortgage, these critters no nothing of ownership beyond staking a

claim to turf or food among themselves.

The gal above as well as her current mate are residents and willingly take offerings from

my hand on a daily basis. Although she seems curious in the series above, I have no idea

how much thought they give to life if they even "think" at all. I on the other hand spend

hours in the backyard in thought and observation but to what end and ultimate

significance, who can say. They enjoy the area in ways and means I can only envy.

Being true to their nature and desires may come rather easy to them. :)

The male above and female below presently have one chick who is also a frequent visitor.

There has been a young finch with its parent visiting lately as well.

The cycle of life is readily apparent in the backyard, both day and night.
