On occasion, You will see a number of male whales in pursuit of a female. The whales move at speed and there is plenty action at the surface with lunging, rapid turns causing wakes and other activities. If the group has been active below the surface you can often see a number of blows at the same time or in close succession. The other day I saw such a run off in the distance near a whale watching boat and I paddled over towards the action. As it turned out, the pod was headed my way and I stopped and watched them pass by.
