Hawksbill turtle above and green sea turtle below. The "bill" or beak, "eye brows" and overall "plate" patterns are obviously different.













A Hawksbill feeding on the reef:

A larger Hawksbill swam up and dropped down and interacted with this one. They circled eachother and got in close for some beak to beak contact:

The larger of the two moved on after the encounter:

It dropped down after passing the sand canyon and started feeding in a "cleaning station" area:

At the northern and outer edge of the reef, there is an isolated and small coral upcropping coming up out of the sand. Every time I invistigate this spot, I can see a small pair of fish hovering above it. They are somewhat timid and don't hang out in the open for long if I swim down for a closer look or photo.


These two (above) seem to have selected this spot as their home. They are about 2" long and from the surface probably 12' above, you have to be looking for them to see them.
