Brother Doug and Little T below:

Doug got the shot of me, Little T & Alice (L to R) below:

Little T and others seek dark caves and shelves to rest under and away from the view of casual swimmers above. With the aid of a LED flashlight, I caught T below as well as another cave dweller:

12-23-08:

The largest cave in the area had a White Tip in it the first day I saw these sharks but I have not seen one in it since. Today, I wanted to see how the strobe on my housing with the Nikon would fare in illuminating these caves. No sharks to be seen but I decided to stick the housing and strobe extended away from the housing into a cave to see if I had the exposure guessed correctly. I swam up to the surface and checked out the image in the LCD and saw something unexpected in the left hand corner of the shot. It was a shark!

I had not stuck my head under the ledge far enough to be aware of its presence but there it was. I now suspect that it has been there on previous visits but tucked away far enough to avoid detection. I wanted to see how the flashlight would compare in illumination to the strobe (slower shutter and much lower F stop):

I went back and stuck the camera deeper into the cave:
