Rocket Girl 9-18-09:
I came upon Rocket Girl feeding out at the reef's edge. I swam into shore and grabbed a piece of the algae she has shown a liking to in the past and brought it out to her position. She recognized it and went for it. It is much less prevalent now in the shallows and I wonder if she might not be partly responsible for its absence. I see a whole bunch of it starting to grow in the shallows further south which is an area I have yet to see a Hawksbill graze in. This area has many more swimmers, is quite shallow and close to the beach and very little coral remaining; live or algae covered.
